Very first game story

Nov 11, 2007, 9:09 AM

Yesterday, I had three extra tix to the game. I invited a new co-worker and his kids for their first ever college football game.
They are from Long Island and the only big sporting event they had attended was a preseason NFL game.
They showed up at my house in Clemson hats and tshirts. They had gone to BiLo and bought all the gear yesterday. I knew they were a good choice to take my tix.
When we arrived in Clemson they all three, literally, were stunned. Their jaws were hanging open as we weaved past TD's, left at lot one, and past Death Valley. The kids pointed and shouted at all of the orange. They saw numerous RVs and Delivery trucks painted orange and white.
We tailgated for awhile and then went into Death Valley.
As those kids came out of the portal in the upper deck they had the reaction that I did as a kid. They froze. The boy (7th grade) seemed unable to move. They were blown away.
When the Tigers amassed atop the hill I thought these kids were going to faint with excitement.
By the end, dad was jumping up and down going wild. The kids begged him for season tix and he turned and asked me how to get tix for next season.
Our new friends from Long Island are now fully invested in the Tiger Nation.
When we left, both kids hugged me, my wife, and my son and thanked us for the tix. I've never seen more sincerity and appreciation from a 7th and 9th grader.
Great day, great win, DESTROY OUR NEXT FOUR OPPONENTS

good to hear some people still realize there are more important things than an extra 50 bucks.
