Who would be your choice to replace Tommy Bowden?

I think you get a fresh name like Charlie Strong, the Defensive Coordinator for the Gators. Eventhough he coached at USC, I would love to see that smash mouth D in DV.

I have seen him finish seasons well, after starting poorly and fulfill my "hope". Remember, this is first time he has ended season poorly! So again I say lets WATCH BOWDEN BOUNCE BACK! At least, he is getting that chance, and I expect he does bounce back! I really like the oustanding character recruits, who appear to be getting more talented by the year. Also, the faithful assistant coaches say he is most organized coach they have ever worked for - "meticulous" is the word! So I will increase the ante and use the word "expect" rather than "hope".

I admire your attitude,...

it's the same one I've carried now for about 8 years. Unfortunately now for 8 years, I've also been consistently let down. For me, the way last year panned out after the GT game was the final straw,... not the only straw mind you, just the final one.
I no longer have any confidence TB can do it.
There was a time we were feared,... no more. There was a time folks hated playing us,... no more. There was a time we owned the ACC,... not even close now.
There was a time we basically looked past the ACC and the S.C. state championship because quite frankly, they were only stepping stones to where our sights were really set,... and that was the national stage,... now? give me a break!
For me, 8 years of the same old thing is enough.

We have a coach. Believe he can do the job and will get the job done this season. If not, believe the same thing for the next coach.

What, exactly, would that belief be based on?

Faith might be the better word choice there, because there isn't really any proof that he can get the job done. That's assuming the "job" in question is winning some sort of championship.

Three of the best coaches in modern history at Clemson have come from the staff. Frank Howard replaced Jess Neely. Charlie Pell replaced Red Parker. Danny Ford replaced Pell.

Are you a gamecock fan or just stupid?

TB is and will continue to do fine. Our talent level is skyrocketing and we will be a consistent 10 game winner very soon probably starting this year.
He is 6-2 versus the gamecock legends and last year's team would have been really special had we not had horrific lb injuries and been cheated at BC and USC by bad officiating.

Lumbee is correct. The biggest reason for our late season
Jul 26, 2007, 12:44 PM

collapse was the loss of our 2 best LBS and Clays late season depression. We were playing backups and 3rd teamers and did not stop the run for the last 5 games of the season. You dont stop the run you lose.

passing game is what killed your season. The teams that had time to sit back & study your O figured it out. No down field pass plays absolutly cost you. With just a little pass attack it would have been a season to remember (for ya'll)

Take your game with USC, for instance-had we had our starting lb's playing, we would have brought constant pressure on Blake Mitchell but we could not and he picked us apart.

Maybe so but had Proctor been a passer it would have been a cake walk for Spiller & Davis & imo Meriweather (which looked like he could have done it anyway if given the chance)

should have had somebody better and I think we should have. If we have the LBs we thought we had no way you go up and down the field as did several other teams during the slide. You dont stop the run you lose....

David Bennett...Head coach at Coastal Carolina University. Look at what he has done with that program in 5 years. He is cut from the same mold as Danny Ford. He is a no nonsence type of coach and plays smashmouth, no excuses football.
