not to go to The Lounge when he has a free moments to go online. The liberal loonies that run amuk on there will just get him pissed off with their rants about the war and our President. Fortunately their opinion is in the minority, they just happpen to have hijacked the board.

Yep. You can hop over the fence it's so low.

Apr 9, 2007, 8:54 PM

The marker no longer has the Jim Morrison bust that used to sit on top of it. Guess it got stolen one too many times. They keep the grafiti off it as well.

Has he ever told you

Apr 9, 2007, 7:52 PM

"Just remember I'm a trained killer paid for by your tax dollars." That was always one of my favorite lines for people who were "anti-war." Tell him the best part is being a retired killer still being paid by your tax dollars. Pass along our thanks while you're at it.

Our thoughts are for his safety, and...

Apr 9, 2007, 8:02 PM

Our hopes are that he'll be working during the day. Guys I know that have been over there say the worst part is trying to sleep in the desert when it's 120+ degrees during the day.

Re: My son (in Iraq) is a HUGE Clemson fan ...

Apr 9, 2007, 8:08 PM

Makes you proud doesn't it. My son is in the 82nd in Diyala Province. He also grew up a Tiger Fan. He took his Clemson ball cap with him to wear around camp. He was wounded two weeks ago and couldn't wait to get the stitches out so he could get back to his soldiers, received a Purple Heart. I pray for all to return safely. It has been a rough 3 months for us since he moved to his outpost location. Attacks on them are a regular happening. His wife and 7 year old son miss him greatly. They just spent the Easter weekend with us.
Let us all know how we can support your son.

Thanks, he is committed to his work with the 82nd. He is career and we are very proud of him. We do wish he was home. Unfortunately we do not hear from him too much since his missions last about 5 days to two weeks.
