A Thank You to Anthony Waters...

Dear Anthony,

As your Clemson playing career comes to a close, I just wanted to express my sincerest thanks for what you have done. You will never know how much I appreciate the love you showed to Clemson by returning for your senior season. You risked a great deal to come back and lead this team and I now hope and pray that your sacrifice will not be in vain.

We will need you now more than ever... need your leadership on the sidelines and in practice, need your intensity and your passion. If you get a chance to read this, know that thousands of us would give almost anything to undo what has happened to you. Your leadership has touched many of us.

I humbly ask that you do one more thing for Tiger Nation. Please, please don't let your influence on this team end now that you won't actually be on the field. If your presence can mean so much to those who don't know you personally, it will mean much more to those players who will need your strength, your courage and your leadership the rest of the way. I believe that even on the sidelines, you can lead this team to a championship.

Please accept my sincere thanks for all you have given to our school. You will always be one of my favorite Tigers.

I thought he was one of the toughest, most exciting players to ever come through Clemson and I really hope he can rebound from this injury and find a career in the NFL. Either way, he'll always be one of my favorites.

Let's all get behind Anthony, and the team. Champions can overcome. Anthony still is a great leader and an influence on so many. He is a true tiger!
