Bonds is a racist, arrogant, cheating #########

May 10, 2006, 1:01 AM

Baseball may not be a pure sport, but it's record holders should be men of class and greatness and should be role models for young players coming up. This man is none of the above and deserves no type of recognition for his falsely inflated stats. As he closes in on Ruth it makes me sicker and sicker, and anyone who roots for this guy should seriously reevaluate their attitudes about pro athletes.

dude............relax, its baseball

May 10, 2006, 1:12 AM

It is a sport....a game. There are a whole lot more inportant things to be concerned about in the world today.

I have spent an entire year of my short life in the ######## countries of Iraq and Afghanistan. I have seen people that have it a hell of a lot worse then us poor ######## chatting on Tnet. I am as big of a sports fan as the rest of us here on tigernet, but there is no reason to get worked up over something like this.

Relax for christs sake.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is this a sports forum? Thought it was.

May 10, 2006, 1:18 AM

I have a ton of respect for your service, my cousin's over there right now. However, this is a sports board that discusses sports and "games". This happens to be the biggest issue in sports right now and if I have an opinion about it I will voice it.

Ah, the two-sided view of sports' history...

May 10, 2006, 6:39 AM

"...record holders should be men of class and greatness and should be role models for young players coming up."

You do realize that a lot of baseball greatest players (e.g., Ruth, Cobb, Williams, and Rose -- who admittedly bet on baseball but people still want in the Hall of Fame more than Bonds) are people that should never be considered role models for anyone, right?

Ruth -- generally an immature piece of crap
Cobb -- unbelieveable ###
Williams -- acted like a five-year-old for the majority of his career
Rose -- bet on baseball

This doesn't include the list of Hall of Famers that abused drugs, beat their wives, etc.

In any event, I think that Charles Barkley put it best when he said that athletes should not be role models for kids...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with your post except for the part about Rose. I

May 10, 2006, 7:29 AM

have not heard many people asking for Rose to be allowed into the Hall of Fame, except of course, Pete Rose.

Other than being roll models or men with class, I agree with your post. In fact, don't think ol Babe was much of a roll model either.

So I guess that SCU fans cheer for those who reach "suck"

While Babe may not have been a role model, I also don't think he was a blatant cheater at baseball.

Bonds is.
