I live in Santa Barbara, we (alums in California) got e-mail

Nov 16, 2013, 10:15 AM

... earlier this week from alumni association, who was looking for someone to go down to LA this morning and do that. They were going to overnight the flags to whoever volunteered.

So, whoever this is God bless them for volunteering and seeing as they had to supply the pole themselves (alumni association was only going to send flag(s)), lets just be glad they made it visible.

... so, actually, I live in Goleta (used to live on the Mesa, but we moved out to Goleta a few years ago because wife is at UCSB and my work moved from downtown to Storke Road, so didn't want to drive from the Mesa to Storke everyday).

I walked over to watch a game at DP a few Friday nights ago with some friends and kids. Sorry, ya'll lost to Ventura. It was homecoming night though.

half-way kidding, but it sounds more mexican than it does american, and no one can deny that. but we are talking california,so all bet's are off. a few years back, the state of california had more money than some countries, but now that state is barely staying out of bankruptcy.

... "we didn't cross the border, the border crossed us."

All these cities: San Diego, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Louis Obispo, San Francisco, etc. were Spanish missions (and they all still have the missions which to this day have Sunday Catholic mass).

That's Spanish for two pueblos right?***

when i was stationed at Camp Pendleton we'd shoot out the Christianitos Gate to Pedro's Taco's for lunch and up on the hill above Pedro's in the zillion dollar homes neighborhood someone up there has a Tiger Paw flag flying from their porch that you can see from I-5. Not sure if it's still there or not but it was from '09 to '11 time frame.
