What they say now?

"Don't go to Clemson, you'll waste your potential".
Sammy Watkins is 9th in the country in receiving...as a Freshman. Allen is arguably the best TE in the nation. Tajh is putting up numbers that rival Andrew Luck and Kellen Moore. What they say now?
"Can't handle success".
It's true, in years past we haven't been able to. In 08 we were ranked 9 and got throttled by Bama. We always seem to trip up against an inferior opponent...good thing this isn't years past. We've taken care of business no matter who we play. We're 7-0 and flying high...what they say now?
"They just don't have the heart".
If there's one thing I've noticed about Dabo coached teams, it's that they don't stop fighting. 09 against GT we went down 24-0, only to rally back before falling on a last second field goal. This year we went down 14 points to Auburn...twice. We went down 18 to Maryland...twice. We won both games. What they say now?
"They can't finish business".
A game sealing sack against FSU. A pick to seal the game against Auburn. Multiple Branch sacks to end the game against VT. A long TD run by Ellington to ice the game against Maryland. What they say now?
"It's still Clemson. They'll slip up eventually".
Same old Clemson, right? Wrong. This team is different. This team has heart, spirit, fight. This team doesn't lay down for anyone, and doesn't play around with anyone. They come out and hit you straight in the mouth. If you're gonna beat us, you're gonna remember who we are at the end of the game, and you won't ever wanna see us again. The culture has changed here, ladies and gentlemen.
"They aren't championship caliber."
9-1 on our way to Charlotte, after scratching and clawing a win out of the grasp of Wake Forest. Undefeated at home for the first time since 1990.
What they say now?

that was the first time in my 30 years as a Clemson fan that I had no fear we would come back from that far down at Maryland. To say we are explosive is an understatement.

Gotta say I had the exact same thought. First time in at least 15 years I've had that feeling.

game, I told them to just Believe...This team has heart just like they did...Welcome back!! BTW, I've always believed even in the cold rain in Jacksonville during a 42-0 beating by Syracuse. Only after the last second clicked off did I accept defeat..

Heck, I've never even seen us win a championship. I was born in 92, one year after our last championship. I grew up with Hatfield, West, and Bowden. That's an all-star cast of coaches right there! Now I finally...FINALLY...get to see some success from our Tigers!

I was never worried that we wouldn't come back. I don't think I have ever had that feeling before. Sitting there with my little coot buddy listening to him preaching doom for the Tigers, I just laughed and said, "Watch grasshopper and see how it's done". Needless to say I don't think he will see his coots coming back like that....ever.
What an offense!
