Exactly ... take care of business at noon and earn the biggest night game.

If we beat Auburn last year....they don't win the National Championship and who knows how their season plays out.(Not to mention ours. There's no reason we can't have something special happen this year and we go on to a ACC Championship season. (I love my orange kool-aid but a NC is a bit much).

the QB position you have coming in to run your offense could not beat out a hurt KP last season.
Just sayin

I agree that that will definitely help matters, but being in the ACC, we are destined for a certain number of noon games every year because some of the programs just aren't putting anything into football (looking at you Wake Forest and Duke).

Maybe so, but if Auburn were coming to Clemson to face the defending ACC champs, I can almost guarantee you that it wouyld be a prime time night game.

Okay, so Wake does pretty good for a school its size.
Are you willing to give Clemson any sort of break based on size of student body?
17,500 compared to 27,200 for SCAR ???

App St. has 17K students now. It really makes tough competition for the private schools in the Southern Conference vs. the State Schools
App St 17,000 Ga Southern 21,500 UNC Greensboro 19,000 Western Carolina 10,200 UT Chatty 10,800 College of Knowledge 10,600
Elon 6000
Wofford 1500 Davidson 1800 Samford 2800 Furman 3000 El Cit 3300
And consider the differences in the academic requirements between Wofford, Furman, Davidson and Samford vs. Appy, Georgia Southern, UNC Greeny and Western. Huge difference there.

I think you are correct but the NCAA counts the other programs as well. I remember beating the Citadel when I was at Wofford for the first time in 40 years. Now Wofford has won like 15 in a row over the Bulldogs.
It must be incredibly tough to recruit athletes to the Citadel, keep them there and build a program. Guys like Jack Douglas do not come along every day.
I can not imagine a tougher selling job than getting players in today's world to commit to the Citadel for football.

over USuC, Arkansas, Navy. SoCon in'92. My son reminds me often that Wofford has become El Cids daddy in football.
Even Dabo couldn't recruit there.

I give all the credit in the world to what Grobe accomplished at Wake for that brief period of time.
Pretty amazing.
But, Wake has not been a factor in the ACC historically and probably will not be a factor very often in the future.
We all understand that the fact that Wake has won an ACC title since Clemson won one is not particularly flattering to Tiger football.
