fess up. Did anyone else's conversation with their girlfriend/wife during the Palmer hit go like this:
-Palmer catches ball-
Me-"#### yeah!!"
Girlfriend- "Yes!"
-Palmer gets nailed-
Me-"That ain't no #### fumble!"
Girlfriend-"Honey, he's hurt"
Me-"He'll be alright. They better not call that a fumble."
Girlfriend-"Oh my God, he's hurt bad."
Me-"The refs better not screw us on this one."
-Palmer gets up; no fumble-
Girlfriend-"That's a good sign. He's going to be ok."
Me-"H#### yeah, no fumble. Way to hold onto the ball brother. I hope everything's alright."
-I get "you insensitive #######" look from girlfriend-

when the refs initially ruled it a fumble, mainly because it clearly was not a turnover. The refs were basically letting the Miami players call the game. Typical incompetent ACC officiating.

I don't trust the ACC replay officials either.....

I have seen several cases where the replay clearly supported overturning the ruling on the field but the replay officials allowed the play to stand. The TD pass in the Maryland game is just one example. I am convinced the ACC has a group of one eyed blind men working the replay booth.

I was more worried about the fumble because I know Palmer is one tough MFer. Watching the replay only confirmed that. I swear you could see the want to go after the ball in his eyes after he hit the ground. That guy is amazingly tough to take a hit like that and come down with the ball still tucked. My hats off to him, he has been key on our victories this year.

my reaction wasn't quite that bad but it was my first reaction to say please no fumble and then after watching the replay give Palmer even more credit for holding onto the ball after taking that hit, also made me think he is probably our number 1 target for Parker at this time so was worried we wouldn't be able to drive down the field without him.

The Miami fans around us were also laughing and saying "you got knocked the f*** out".
Miami fans were a cross between the crowd you'd expect to see at a bike ralley or poker run, a WWF Wrestling event, and a cage fighting match.

addition. When they showed the replay, you coulud see Ford signaling that Palmer was down when the ball came out. So I said, "see, I know that is not a fumble. Ford's hand gesturing confirms it. Dang ACC refs. They better not screw us out of another game."
