to take the heat once he goes into his first slump. And something else sounds fishy about this. You usually see things like this when the kid really is in trouble with academics I.E. Laron Dendy.

The behavior on here, at times, is beyond ridiculous. It is boorish and sophomoric and it DOES matter.

BUT - it is justified by the excuse of "if he can't take it now . . . ". That is a classic rationalization of acting in a way your momma taught you was wrong.

But what do I know . . .

As relevant as you would like your posts to be, they are ultimately meaningless. That kid had bigger issues with Wisconsin than message boards.

I missed that and haven't followed his recruiting. What were the bigger issues? Did he say those outweighed the message board issues?

Biggest problem with blaming message boards

is that you have little or no control over it. A lot of the hate-filled rhetoric comes from trolls from other schools poisoning the well. If you're smart enough to figure out that message boards might cast a negative light on the fanbase, you don't think someone with that specific agenda might be able to as well?

All the holier-than-thou hand-wringing in the world won't stop that.

Bottom line is that a recruit worrying about what some nut posted on a message board seriously has his priorities out of whack.
