Nick Eason

Mar 12, 2009, 8:43 AM

Thought I would share this with the board...

Yesterday Nick Eason came to a practice for our varsity lacrosse team at the high school. Nick talked with the team for about 30 minutes. He discussed working hard, holding each other accountable, and using an "Us" mentality to acheive championships.
He did not have on anything that identified him as a Pittsburg Steeler. He had on Clemson shorts and a Clemson t-shirt. Nick was great with the guys. He is an outstanding role model. Nick was the first football player at Clemson to graduate in 3 years and have 2 remaining years of eligibility. The guys see so many negatives in their sports heroes. Nick finished Clemson and went on to get a Masters degree.
He's still Solid Orange. He talked more about Clemson than the Super Bowl. I knew you would all appreciate hearing about a great Tiger and how he is giving back to the local community.

When I was in college with Nick, he always seemed like a good guy. We hung out briefly a couple times while doing laundry in Mauldin Hall. He seemed friendly but a little overwhelmed as a freshman. Then he came to spoke at FCA a couple years later, and he seemed so much more confident of himself as a human being and as a leader. I'm glad he won a SuperBowl and am not surprised that he's so active in the community.

Thanks for sharing that. Knowing Nick, I am not surprised

by what you had to say about him. He is a great person and a true Clemson man. Wish him more success in his future.
