Dabo Quote in Bart Wright's article:

"If we get past all this stuff about being one win away, one play away, one kick away, one (official's) call away and ad nauseam, we can do this," he said. "The past is a bucket of ashes; we have to live up to a new standard of excellence we haven't seen around here in a while."
"There's one boss -- me, that's it," Swinney said. "Sometimes you have to be firm and stern, and I will do that. If we aren't successful here, it won't be because we did it somebody else's way, I can assure you that."

He knows what Bowden's weaknesses were and is completely trying to change the culture. I don't care if you think he was a great or terrible hire, but the man takes a stand. If this thing fails, he isn't gonna have Mike O'Cain, Brad Scott, or Rob Spence to blame. I hope this guy is successful.

He has the total opposite approach than what TB had.

He has the "Thank you Clemson for giving me this opportunity" approach as opposed to the "Clemson, you're lucky to have me" approach.

xctb and I had a lot in common

unless you count age, religion, finances, etc

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

So, what you're saying is.............

Mar 11, 2009, 2:29 PM

you're a young, broke-a$$ atheist

;)

not so young, have more than most (not nearly as much as xctb), and am not sure that I buy organized religion.

Middle aged, financially stable agnostic. Gotcha.

I do not agree with that

I DO agree CTB had some faults, but I will ALWAYS remember how he said repeatedly that CU was a great place and he was happy to be here.

That is the quote of a leader. Now whether or not he

can coach, remains to be seen, but the man is most certainly a leader.
