Well...for me...it's official....

Sep 29, 2008, 9:00 AM

After this past Saturday, I will no longer support the decision to retain Tommy Bowden as Clemson's head coach.

Bowden has recruited well, he has recruited kids with a very high level of character, he is a man of integrity, he runs a clean program, and graduation rates are quite good.

I fully acknowledge his accomplishments and the progression the program has made over the last ten years. Bowden has taken us a long way, but we still have a long way to go and Bowden simply is not the coach to get us to that next level.

It is abundantly clear that the inconsistency that has dogged Clemson since Bowden's arrival is not going to change. I am sick of it, I am tired of it, but mostly I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I absolutely love Clemson University and I will continue to be an avid supporter of its athletic endeavors. I will continue to contribut to IPTAY. I will continue to attend every game and yell as loud as I can for the team. However, after this past Saturday, I will no longer support the decision to retain Tommy Bowden as Clemson's head coach.

Tommy, thank you for all you've done but you have done all you can, and it's clearly time for a change.

In the beginning he looked like he knew what he was doing. Then Rich left and it has gotten worse and worse.

I think I have been more than patient and supportive but for me the time for a change has arrived.
