Virginia to install new safety measures

BY Staff

The Charlottesville Observer

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - (KMA) - University of Virginia officials have approve the spending on a new safety system that will protect students and fans.

Virginia will install a new Pergola hydraulic system that will automatically lower the Pergola during the 2nd and 3rd Quarters of every home football game to prevent injury of exiting students and fans. Students and fans typically leave the game during the middle of games to tailgate. After dining on wine and cheese and being oblivious as to how the UVa football team is doing, fans can re-enter the stadium without fear of the Pergola.

Fans express varying opinions over the new system. Jeff Smith, a senior at UVa, said "We're Virginia, we're better than you." While Mary, a six year sophomore was quoted "We're Virginia, we're better than you."

Construction is to begin in December.
