Troy Williamson – “We don't play for the fans, we learned that a long time ago, that when things go wrong or when it is not going exactly like they think it should go then they will leave you alone in front of everyone in the country."

Mo Thompson - “I mean the fans are there and it is part of the game but when it comes to playing the game and how we feel about our fans and talk about our fans ... I mean as far as winning and losing and how in the very beginning of the fourth quarter we could look up and see them leaving like they did ... I didn't appreciate that. None of us did if you want to know the truth about it. They gave up on us with a quarter remaining in the game. They sent us a message that they did not believe in us no matter how hard we worked or no matter how hard we kept playing, they were telling us that they were giving up on us.

Mike McGee - “You go to Philadelphia and a team’s playing poorly, they don’t leave. They stay and let you have it. Here at South Carolina they get up and file out.”

earlier that one Clemson poster spoke for the entire fan base regarding a recruit. Can't have it both ways, Toog.

Here's the bottom line....our entrance....

Mar 2, 2006, 1:02 PM [ in reply to One wonders how we ever get people to play at USC. ]

is UNIQUE. No one else uses it. Why? Because no one can? No one has The Hill or Howard's Rock. It can't be copied.

Your entrance is not unique. Many high schools use it. Elvis used it. Need I say more?

To me, that's one HUGE difference.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So I guess you need a new fight song, since everyone

Mar 2, 2006, 1:04 PM

uses it, even my old high school used it.

Why stop there, you need a new stadium nickname.

We were comparing entrances coot, and....

Mar 2, 2006, 1:06 PM

I never said our fight song was unique. But, our stadium name is OUR name. Need proof coot?

Why don't you take this back to your chicken brethren on FGF?

associated with the smoke and 2001 entrance since they get to the BCS.

I've not said your entrance sucks. It is unique.

Mar 2, 2006, 1:19 PM [ in reply to Here's the bottom line....our entrance.... ]

It doesn't do anything for me though. In fact.. I think it's a little dull.

I love USC's entrance. I get stoked out of my mind.

What could be reason behind that?

they'd quit. They do have fireworks, though, which elevates their entrance above the silly-a$$ Gamecocks. I bet Spurrier would like to do away with the bush-league, sci-fi, David Copperfield stuff, just so they'd at least look more like a football team instead of the carny act that they are.

not a very good arguement based on the 2005 attendance statistics.

It's actual a dream for people to run down that hill. Grown men cry before they run down that hill because it IS something special and IT IS something magical. Not just running out of a tunnel while being sprayed with fire extinguishers. Big whoop. Go tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"Running" is used a bit loosely in that context******

Re: Funniest thing I have read all year!!

Mar 2, 2006, 1:14 PM

pitpat needs some drugs or needs to change teams. Gamecocks entrance is a waste of good fire extinguishers.Only thing more corny is the crowing chicken over the pa system.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

seems like 30 years from now the entrance (2001) will be

Mar 2, 2006, 1:17 PM

even more silly. A large furry chicken unveiled at mid-field to a song title from 30 years ago? Would it be odd now if their entrance now was 1976, maybe just me...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The song itself has nothing to do with 2001.

Mar 2, 2006, 1:27 PM

It is "Thus Spake Zarathustra" and it was written long before it was made the theme to some movie with "2001" in the title. For some reason, people refer to the song as "2001".
