Calling all Clemson Christians….
Feb 6, 2006, 9:08 AM
|
|
I just wanted you to know that Tommy Bowden will be at our church on Sunday, March 26. I hope you can make it and please bring those who do not know Christ. I love the Gamecocks but nothing is more important than building up the Kingdom and seeing people eternities change.
So if you are a Christian, curious about Jesus, or just want to see Tommy Bowden, (I don’t care why you come just come and let the truth of Jesus Christ show you what true abundant living is all about) Come to Fairview Baptist Church in Greer, SC on Sunday March 26. Sevice starts at 10:30 AM. www.fairviewgreer.net

It's nice to see you comin over here and posting something like that (especially with your anti-Clemson post history on FGF ).
Now let's just hope the PC crowd doesn't show up for this one...

LOL Thanks. I can admit that I am far from perfect and I can let the rivalry mean more to me than it should. And yes I can pick on Clemson on FGF, it is what you do with your rival. However, when you are on your rivals board you come with respect and your hat in your hand.
Plus USC and Clemson will one day perish but Christ is here forever. So I really want to make sure that my main focus are on things that have a longer shelf life than Clemson/Carolina.

basically give his testimony, share with all his belief in the glory of Heaven hereafter, and NO ONE gave him a single "thumbs up", in "this environment" where love of Jesus is said to be so important

the desire to "bash" was the reason why no one acknowledged his post until I recognized it, before then, some guy is bitting his tounge, for the reason you accused me

Once again...do you not see my post RIGHT under the one you just mentioned? Did I insult? I was the first one to give a guy a point and I did it before your post even came out.
You definately have made a wrong judgement call, Coot. You can't expect someone to post something on a Monday morning after the Super Bowl and get 1000 points within 5 minutes.

The post hasn't been up there but a few minutes. And I definately gave him a thumbs up the second I read it. You might want to read the response 2 posts above yours.
If they had a thumbs down, you'd have already gotten a lot.

I have known people who went to church every Sunday and made out like they were holier than thow and on Monday cheated on spouses, lied, cheated. Going to church doesn't do squat!!! It is more important how you live. I live my life very admirally, thank you. I just don't believe that there is only one right religion and everyone else is wrong.

You are absolutely correct. Just going to church on Sunday doesn't make you a Christian. It is very important to live a good life but that's not enough. You say you don't believe there is only one right religion but are you willing to take that chance. What if you are wrong? If you should be wrong would you want to know it?

but I recently committed my life to Christ and the only way I can describe it is physically, mentally, and spiritually miraculous. I pushed Him away for so long with so many excuses. Now I know He is the truth. This book helped me overcome many of my doubts - "The Case For Faith" by Lee Stroebel. Lee has also written "The Case for Christ" and "The Case for a Creator". I would start with The Case for Christ. In this book he uses a journalistic approach to investigate the toughest objections to christianity. He interviews athiest, agnostics, and christians in his search for truth. Give it a shot. I also used to think that it was wrong to claim that Jesus is the only way to God. No more!
