Anyone knocking Brad Brownell is a straight up MORON.

This year was going to be a rebuilding year. Period.
We lost a 4-year starter at PG and an All-ACC (Defensive team) Center/Forward. We have 4 true freshman who see significant playing time (1 of whom essentially starts). Then our returning guys aren't exactly world beaters. He doesn't exactly have Roy Williams' roster to work with here.
Brownell was a dynamite hire and this is one of the youngest teams we've had in a decade. Clemson basketball will be fine.

and haven't followed Clemson basketball very closely throughout the years. Purnell certainly didn't leave Brownell with much to work with and losing Stitt and Grant really killed us this year. Like you said, this is 100% a rebuilding year. You have got to give him 3 to 4 years minimum.

he is in full-blown rebuilding mode, and it's gonna take him and his staff some time to build recruiting inroads. He strikes me as the kind of coach who understands the situation and knows how to get it done.

We do not have the facilities of the big time programs. No real history either.
Brownell is a good coach. Maybe he will stay a long time, and build us into a school that can compete every few years for the ACC Title.

about BB, just ask him how he would coach this group differently. Ask them what specifically they don't like about BB's system. Anyone who thinks BB is not a good coach cannot answer these questions. It just exposes them for the morons they are.

UTEP coach. They ran a junk defense against us and BB had NO answer for it. All they did was guard two guys and zoned the other three. No answer at all. No back cuts, no baseline runs, nothing. Not one adjustment. He's a joke. You can use the excuses all you want "rebuilding year, no players, OP left him nothing, blah blah blah". Well, when we're still getting our butts kicked in two more years with "his" players, we'll see.

You summed it up correctly. The "fair weather friends" just don't understand the game OR the program. I know because I have a couple sitting right behind me at all the games and it's obvious they are lower class "wannabe's." Anybody who pays any attention to Coach Brad, especially during a game, should be able to see it.
Thanks for telling it like it is.

Ace - You are dead-on correct. Brownell can coach ...

Demontez Stitt was both underrated and inconsistent, but he was a baller. He was a man. He had talent and courage and his leadership is missed. This year's team is a work in progress and the leaders have not stepped up yet ... remember its December.
Brad Brownell gets the x's and o's; this team will be better in March than it is now. How much better is hard to say. Bottomline is Brownell can coach from the bench ... how successful he is during his time at Clemson will be influenced by his ability to recruit.
This Tiger is backing Brownell all the way ... and will be traveling to Littlejohn from Savannah 2-3 times this year. Go Tiger hoopsters!

many that have come before him in this job and he leaves for another job. This is one of the hardest jobs to win at in the ACC.

Young and Smith off this team, will we be able to score over 20 a game without those 2?
I thought everyone really liked Purnell and now we are pretending he left the team in a dyer situation and was like larry shyatt or something.
The ever changing arguments.
