If a recruit wants to choose between CLEMSON and usuc

Feb 8, 2011, 6:39 PM

think of it this way. Do you think Dabo would care more about a young man entering school and what it holds, or spurrier? steve spurrier could give a rat's #### about any kid, all he wants is for that kid to lay it on the line for him, and his glory. he could care less about ANY incoming recruit and will tell you so.

Do you know Dabo and Spurrier personally?

Feb 8, 2011, 6:41 PM

If so I will take your advice.

If not, that's a pretty bold statement and uninformed opinion.

I have met SOS numerous times at the South Carolina Coaches Convention and I could not care less for him. His personality is dry, and he acts like you should be thankful he is even talking to you. I stood on the sidelines near him during a schrimage(sp) during the clinic and I have to say he is the biggest ### I have ever met. And I don't mean that as a coach, just as a person. Coaches arent "mean" they are "tough". Can't stand him..

Feb 19, 2011, 11:04 PM [ in reply to Do you know Dabo and Spurrier personally? ]

Spurrier is very popular with a ton of his former players.

These folks (coaches) don't get to be coaches for 20+ years in college football if they essentilly hate the kids as some internet posters would have someone believe.

Steve Spurrier's conquest in the Swamp last weekend was witnessed by several of his old Florida players, many of whom were down on the sidelines for the Gamecocks' 36-14 win over the Gators.

"I’m always glad to see those guys," said Spurrier, who won six SEC championships at Florida. "I saw Danny Wuerffel before the game. Errict Rhett, Travis McGriff and a bunch of those guys were there. It was neat to hug them after the game."

You're pathetic and you constantly embarrass yourself. Fact.

I made a prediction based on either Kyle Parker improving from 2009, or Tahj Boyd being the starter from day 1. Neither of those things happened, and I missed on my prediction. Big whoop. That's not embarrassing at all.

At least I'm not mentally screwed up on a genetic level, like you. Heck, even you admit you're pathetic. No sense trying to deny it now.

Carolina tries to sell the SEC and tv exposure associated

Feb 8, 2011, 9:10 PM

with that. That's legit. However, the question is, do you want to be on a team that historically finishes middle to the lower end of the conference or for a team that has been bowl eligible 12 consecutive years, in the conference championship within the last couple of years and based on the class they just signed, a probably contender for the conference in the coming years. I'm not bringing up 20 years ago either, that's NOW! Then there's top round draft picks.

Feb 19, 2011, 11:08 PM

the kid is looking for.

Clyde Wrenn is on the radio in Columbia a few times a month. He's been on a lot lately - especially right before signing day.

He worked at both Clemson and South Carolina and still has strong ties to both schools.

I've heard him talk about this a lot lately. You sell whatever the kid is buying, and you sell whatever "momma" is buying.

If the kid wants to play SEC football- you sell SEC. If the kid wants to be close to home- you sell being close to home - whether you are or not.

If the kid likes to fish, you take him to the lake on his recruiting trip. If momma likes a nice restarurant, you aren't having a catered affair.

If a recruits main concern is that the coach treat him nice, maybe Clemson and Dabo would be the best place for him. If playing on the big stage and winning football games is his goal, USC and Spurrier would be his best choice.

All Dabo cares aout is his own ####. Talks star players in to coming back for their senior years. That's a diservice to the player. Routinely flaunts secondary violations. Who the hell doesn't know te rule that a coach can't speak to a recruit when he has a game that day?

Honestly, you can hate on SOS all you want, but everyone knows he plays by the rules and has his player's best interests at heart. Even the most ardent UGA and FSU fans who hate his guts acknowledge this.

Sounds like wishful thinking.

He is a future HOF coach. Has the program in great shape and maybe the best shape its ever been in...

Dabo was just on the hot seat last season, had to change almost the whole offense staff. If he goes 6-7 and loss to the "coots" again that might be his last year.

Dabo has such a positive outlook and personality that he can only see the brightest spots. Spurrier is always going to tell you what he's thinking, like it or not. If Spurrier is so bad to players how come we haven't heard that from his actual former players over his entire coaching career.

Dabo MAY BECOME a great head football coach but right now all he has proven is that he is one heck of a recruiter.
