with it due to lack of sales. I guess everyone thinks they have the photos from college they want on their phones but they will wish they had their old Taps one day.

I sold Clemson programs in the 60's as a kid. We would ride our bikes to the game on Saturday and get a bundle of 22 programs to sell for fifty cents each. After we sold them, we'd head back to the stadium and turn in the eleven dollars and get another bundle to sell. Right before kickoff the athletic department would give up a general admission pass to sit on the hill. At the end of the game they would settle up with us, a dollar for every bundle sold. Big bucks for an eleven year old. On the ride home, (about a mile away) we stop by LC Martin’s Drug Store for a drink and grilled cheese. Great days growing up in Clemson!

Except i grew up in Central about 5 miles away and started going to games in the 70s. First game was the '73 Virginia Homecoming Game; sat on the hill with my little league football team. Pulled for Smiley Sanders, the RB from Daniel HS and my fave, Bennie Cunningham, the big TE from Seneca. General Admission tickets were about a dollar.
Didn't sell programs but bought some from the kids selling them; wish i still had them. Worked the concession stands a couple times in middle and HS. That kinda sucked. Weird remembering going to games back when there was neither upper deck. Weirdest game attended was the Duke game in '76 when the Duke FG kicker hit a 60 yarder as time expired that hit the crossbar and bounced through to tie the game 18-18 and an eerie silence fell on the stadium.

That was my 1st Clemson/Carolina game. We were 2-6-2 going in and beat the chickens 28-9 If memory serves me,Warren Ratchford had more yards than the chicken offense, plus we had a terrific goal line stand. That was the start of a great run of dominance! ( 75' kind of took the sheen off of the 7-4 in 1974. )

My wife gave me a 2016 Clemson calendar for Christmas of 2015. It was comprised of former program covers. Thoroughly enjoyed it as the months passed. Very nostalgic.
