GOOD News for Coach Leggett

My brother verbally committed to the class of 2008 earlier this week. He's played out of East Cobb for the last 10 years and turned down offers from GT, UGA and UNC to don the Orange. He'll play on the left side of the infield, more than likely as a freshman. We're all excited about it and I hope y'all are, too.

Plays SS at Kell HS in Marietta. About 6'-1", great range, great speed, great arm. Hits for average and has some power.
Was at the Connie Mack WS last week in NM and some dude threw a 95 MPH fastball at his head after giving up back to back HRs. Jason responded with a double three inches from the top of the wall.
Let me see if I can dig up some stats from Baseball America or Perfect Game so it doesn't look like I'm applying the brother bias.

My graduating class (99) finished as state champs and #1 in the nation.

I graduated from Lassiter in 2002. Kell was built after that and our house was re-zoned into that district.

Good news none the less. I assume he is not a guaranteed early drafy pick that will go straight to the minors? We have lost a lot of good guys that way. Can't blame them though, but it does suck for us when they do.

Another 2008 Signee, Ethan Miller I think, plays 3B and is almost certain to be drafted. Jason, however, is not even thinking about the draft. He will be a Tiger in 2008.

Very pleased to hear this. Sounds like an excellent prospect with those offers and the game experience you mentioned. The team hasn't had much good news lately, especially with Smoker turning pro.
