Im kind of upset that Clemson added the WEZ

Last weekend I was in seats in section L and realized by adding the WEZ they took away the hill I used to ride down on a mashed cardboard box. Now my son won't have the same great time at DV like I did back in the day. Now he has to sit in the seat with me and complain how hot it is and not pay attention to the game and ask stupid questions like what does 3rd down mean and why do they kick a field goal after a touchdown....hell I don't know kid. I can't just send him off like my dad did me ya know. What do the Fathers of Clemson do when the Sons of Clemson are getting on their nerves? It really sucks

Even The Hill sucks now too. I took him over there between the 1st and 2nd qtr and told him he'd maybe like to sit there to watch the game but they asked for his "Hill" ticket? Strong WTPh? Is there assigned seating on The Hill now? Clemson is really starting to take away from a parents gameday experience.

Amen to that!! If your kid "bothers" you so much, why bring him to the game. On second thought, if your kid "bothers" you so much, then why even have them!! Tell ya what, bring him to my seat and I`ll talk to him all game long about the game and "dumb" things that bother you so much!!! I did it for my 21 yr old who went through the same thing, and now he`s a 21yr old senior in college who loves Clemson and all the experiences we had there. Tightened yer belt up man and be a dad once, cause one day.... you`ll reap what you sow.

So it sucks that your own son is interested in football and is asking you questions so he can learn? And you're upset that your babysitter (the grassy hill) is gone?
Its called being a father. You should want to answer his "stupid" questions and make him priority rather than a stupid football game. I don't care how much of a Clemson fan someone is....paying attention to their kid should always be first....always.

now. I guess the old west stands at least had sky and daylight around it. Everything was more open. Seems more claustrophobic now, but I don't ever talk about it because I didn't want someone complaining that I was being negative.

no one around here cares about what really makes Clemson a special place. They act like football is all we have. NEWS FLASH HOT SHOT WE HAVEN'T WON A NC IN 31 YEARS AND WENT 21 YRS WITH A CONF CHAMP IN THE ACC. So Id say things like sliding down the hill and tossing a football around your tailgate seeing the parade before the game are the things that make Clemson special Not building a WEZ that destroys tradition or stabbing footballs at tailgates.

When I played at Minnesota, we played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. We didn't have anything traditional besides maybe the Twins dugouts but kids were not allowed inside. You may convince the usher to give you a random ball that was left on the dugout floor but thats about it. That sucks that they took away that tradition. How fun would it have been to slide on a cardboard box?

That they allow people to go on the field after games. How neat is that? That was never allowed at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Before the game would start I would "run" the bases around the baseball diamond which was covered up by the turf and pretend I was Kent Hrbek or pretend I was Frank Viola and "pitch" towards the plate which was ironically never covered up by the turf. Kids would have loved that.

why the heck would I waste my time if I were joking. I would love for my kid to experience Clemson the way I did. oh well, sucks to be tradition b/c you're getting replace with a posh lounge

I see kids sliding down that on cardboard every game, including my neice when she comes once or twice a year. She has a blast.
Maybe you could take the time to take your son there before or after the game... but you probably won't.

But my dad left me with my great-grandparents at 5 years old, and I never had a real dad. I can only imagine what my childhood would've been like if I could've gone to Clemson games with my dad. It would have sucked though if he had been annoyed with me because I was trying to learn about football.
I may not be a parent, but I was the child of a father who didn't care.

I would say to drop him off at Tiger Tales and pick him up after the game, but alas, Clemson took that away also. Maybe buy him a bow and arrow and put him out in rural Pickens county and see if either of you get lucky
