Arthritis in the future is gonna be bad though. He will eventually need a hip replacement. I'm getting one soon myself, hope they work as good as I've been told!

Had one last year at 45 years old. It worked better than I could have hoped. Walking around like normal now.

My family has a genetic problem. My father had both hips and a knee, my older brother has had both hips and a knee, I have had both hips, my younger brother has had both hips, my 50 yo nephew has had both hips and my 45 yo niece has had both hips. All of ours have done great and were quick recovery. My first one was done 12 years ago at 60 and is still as good as new (as far as I can tell). Recovery for all of us was quick. After 30 days on both of mine I was pushing my airplane ( 68 Mooney 1650 lbs empty) back into the hangar by myself.
The technology has actually improved since mine. You should have no problems.
Good luck

Mooney built some fine aircraft back in the day. Fast single engine planes. Sorry to hear they ceased operations earlier this month.

but I don’t think outcomes (good or bad) are manipulated by a higher power. Even so, hedging ones bets by employing the best doctors never hurts.

I don't discount the benefits of surgery and modern medicine but i don't think outcomes (both good and bad) are manipulated by doctors. Even so, hedging one's bets by employing the most favorable divinities never hurts.
JK.
I didn't post this to mock your lack of belief, nor to illustrate the absurdity of some medicine-free faith-only-healers; but i did want to point out the incoherence of your collective caveats.
You tried real hard not to be offensive. I get it. I have no problem with your honest expression of your beliefs or lack of same, except that "positive thoughts" is a cheap, modern counterfeit for prayer. Nobody telepathically communicated with Tua's subconscious or his doctors' to improve his condition.
However, if that's what you're determined to believe, don't let faith, historical facts, reason or scientific evidence of the power of prayer stand in your way: positive vibes rule!
Hey, Tua, get well, dude!
Didn't work yet. Oh well, give it time.

Ha! I actually do believe in God, just don't think God is in control of everything. I would actually like to get into this with you...but not the right time/place. With that said, keep on praying if it works for you!

Good to hear. I hope his agent or NFL team gets him some better medical advice. Less surgery, more recovery time. We are not machines.
Hope he goes on to a long and lucrative NFL career.

to be honest, do you think Bama would actually come out and say "we're afraid of the possible issues that cropped up for Bo Jackson. We are very confident at this point Tua won't need hip replacement surgery, but we can't rule it out."?
