This narrative that Trump wants to go to war with Iran

Coming from someone critical of Trump, I love dems and the media immediately labeling Trump a war monger when he outright says that he doesn't want a war with Iran, but Iran just made a specific act of aggression against the US.
Where was this "war monger" label when Obama attacked Libya and Syria when there was never any threat or act of aggression against the US.
The Libya and Syria "military operations" allowed for the rise of ISIS and handed Syria to the Russians. But hey, it was under Obama so it was the right thing to do. But now, pushing back against Iran, who actually attacked the US in international airspace, is just Trump being a war monger.
The hypocrisy is just laughable!

He may not be but the problem is he talks like one. Sooner or later someone is going to push him where he either has to respond or back down. Given the amount of crap he talked about past presidents who backed down you would think he wouldn't. In addition, the way he is dealing with certain countries is taking us down a path that can lead to war and that is where many people have an issue.

as a war monger. I found 3 articles that claimed that, one was a letter to the editor in the Hilton Head Island Packet. Another article appeared in the NY Times Jan 30 of last year which described his sable rattling against N.Korea during the State of the Union Address. And the last one was written May 2019 on the Daily Beast website describing Trump as a "warmonger and his weapon of mass destruction is the U.S. dollar." It didn't refer to actual war but using America's economic power in foreign policy.
Beyond that, most of what I found was Trump saying, 4 days ago, “Everyone was saying I'm a warmonger and now they're saying I'm a dove." That was said to a gaggle of reporters before he boarded Marine One to fly off somewhere. That story was picked up by every major outlet and you can google it.

Fox
Politico etc, etc, etc.
The moral of this story is the power of Trump's words. He utters it and millions seem to believe it. The fact is that "everybody" WASNT calling him a warmonger. It's just more of the stuff that he makes up in his head...
