Mother nature will take care of us soon enough. In fact, we've already bent the genetic rules of evolution so much that we're probably going to decline soon naturally anyway. Even if we don't, we will be culled by disease before we die from resource use. And all of that will happen before we turn the entire planet into a desert or Venus from global warming.
And life will go on. With or without us.
As for a "solution", it's simple. Less people. But only death can cause that. It will be a viral pandemic I would guess, or bacteria will evolve (they already have). If we really could beat mother nature, we'd live forever.
