Herbstreit hasn't lost his mind putting UGA in front of Alabama.
Folks, the committee looks at Alabama and UGA as one-loss teams where one has two good wins (Notre Dame and Florida) while the other has zero. Because of the obsession here with USCe and the spastic reactions with anything to do with Alabama, many here refuse to see this.
The bottom line is the Tuesday poll doesn't matter. UGA is in complete control. Their situation is like ours: They win, they in.
Please read this:
If Alabama runs the table and finishes 11-1, the one and only way to ensure they are left out is for UGA to beat LSU in the SEC championship game. That way, if there are two SEC teams in the CFP, they would be UGA and LSU.

You just don't get it.
In the committee's eyes, their two "good wins" vs. zero for Alabama give Georgia the advantage, regardless.
I know how much everyone here hates USCe and the idea of ranking UGA #4 despite losing to them goes against a lifetime of programming. But the committee does not have that bias.
I'll concede if the game were at LSU, it would be a toss up for me on what the committee would say Tuesday. But since Alabama lost at home and didn't really look all that good in losing, they are in very bad shape.
Again, it doesn't matter. Not even worthy of discussion because the only way UGA stays above them is to win out, which means beating LSU in Atlanta on Dec 7th.
