New play on an old joke. Several decades ago when I was covering cops for the Atlanta fishwrapper, there was was a sergeant who reputedly was asked whether he wanted his pizza cut into six or eight slices and answered six, because he couldn't eat eight. I don't believe the story was true, but then again, Mensa is unlikely to come calling for someone who's nicknamed "Boxhead." I think maybe Wambaugh used that joke, too. I read it somewhere. 'Course, it could be that word of Boxhead's exploits had spread and got picked up by some keyboard jockey. I dunno.
