because they pretty much suck now. If your foot is as wide as a yardstick I guess they are ok. If your foot is 'normal' they won't fit.

This is interesting as most of their shoes are known for being narrow. This old people go to New Balance or god forbid Merrell as their choice.

Dumb move. Especially, since they tossed in the Kap

“Sacrificed Everything” part. That seemed like an intentional shot at the people who actually did sacrifice everything so that Kap could protest.
I’m an old guy - not their target demographic - and I buy things just based on what I like. Their stand will make me buy elsewhere. And I’ve got teenagers that I buy for...so they are going to hurt sales in their target demo I think.

that Nike consumer tested this new campaign in their target market... and that it performed well. My assumption is that old white guys aren't that target market.

Yep - no doubt it was market tested. Sometimes

these market tests and polls come up with the wrong answer.
I think more people are likely not to buy because Kap is associated with it than people will decide to buy because he is associated..
Nike might be taking the “no publicity is bad publicity” route. Personally, I’ve never agreed with that old adage for established companies...

I gave them a fair shot, but liked Brooks better. However, if I was shopping today, I'd skip 'em. To many choices in that market to pay for an ######## on field antics. I don't think any of those clowns took a knee in the off season.

that they are “supporting Kap”. That’s not how Nike does it. When they invest in you, they put you on a pedestal. Now Kap has to earn that position every day. And not simply by throwing a ball. He’ll be judged on his activism, his actions and his comments. I am skeptical he can pull it off. Interested parties will have to work hard to convince us that he is a great leader. We shall see how it goes.
And yes, I’m done with Nike. And yes, that means little to them.
