Muschamp: "We are playing our best football" |
South Carolina Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp was recently on the Paul Finebaum Show and spoke about the upcoming rivalry matchup against No. 3 ranked Clemson.
"It's a different year and at the end of the day, we need to coach and play better (than last year's 56-7 game)," Muschamp said. "We got a much better football team that we had at any point last season and certainly a more confident team to play a very good Clemson team. "We are playing our best football at this time and that is what you want to be doing. I would say that in all three phases: offense, defense, and special teams. Obviously, when you lose a guy like Deebo Samuel, our return game has been affected but our coverage units have been outstanding on special teams. Defensively, we have continued to improve." The rivalry in-state Palmetto Bowl is Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
