Womens Golf Second Heading into NCAA Regional Final Round

Bryan, Texas – Clemson women’s golf turned in the best round of the day to move up two spots and sit in second place following the second round of the Bryan Regional. The top-five teams after 54 holes of stroke play advance to the National Championship Tournament in Carlsbad, Calif., May 17-22.



The Tigers shot a -7 (281) on the day to sit at -4, two shots out of first place. Clemson had two players turn in bogey-free rounds on Tuesday, matching the total of bogey free rounds this season prior to Tuesday. Clemson turned in 13 birdies on the back nine to take the lead at the turn.



Annabelle Pancake led the Tigers in round two, with a -6, 66. Following the Tigers’ start on No.10, she carded four birdies on the back nine and finished the front nine with back-to-back birdies to move into second-place in the individual competition at -7. Pancake’s 66 is the second-best score in an NCAA tournament round by a Clemson golfer, behind Savannah Grewal’s 63 in last year’s Pullman (WA) regional.



Chloe Holder rebounded from a tough first round to shoot a -4, 68. Holder had three birdies on the back nine and finished out her round with a birdie on 18 to move into a tie for 11th overall. Sydney Roberts finished the day at +1 to move to +3 on the week and a tie for 22nd, while Isabella Rawl finished at +2 and is tied for 17th. Melena Barrientos rounded out the Tigers lineup at +7, tied for 42nd.



The Tigers return to the course on Wednesday for the final round of the regional, teeing off at 9:00 a.m (8:00 a.m. central).
