Shocked more like it. That was the team we read and heard about all off season. Praying this is the turning point and we can win out.
This team has great potential and it showed Saturday against ND. GO Tigers.

I was baffled at how well they performed against ND. I just...don't understand how that performance was possible after watching all the previous games, but most notably the Miami game, where they were essentially dominated. I understand that we had a different lineup due to injuries, but that can't be all there is to it. Or is it?

I did see a comment that Riley may have ditched the RPO. If it was called a run then it stayed a run to the designated player. Similar for passing situations. The thinking is that this simplified the Oline’s responsibilities. Less thinking, just get after the defender knowing while where the ball was going per the play call. I can imagine that really helps for run plays since you don’t have to worry about pushing the defense and ending up too far downfield.

I thought the O-Line looked better, but the PFF grades posted on T-Net earlier were just as low as they had been. Did Mafah make that much difference?

The strength of the ND defense is their back field. The QBR was not great but look at the competition and it’s not as bad. There were at least 4 drops one lead to the interception. Cade is improving and maturing

Our QB is giving more credit than due. Previously to ND game Cade sat in the pocket and waited for his primary to break away deep.

Ah that’s the issue, he’s waiting for the deep guy to come open? Well unfortunately our WRs don’t have the speed for separation unless they’re being matched up against a defensive tackle, and even when they do get open they end up hitting hands of stone. #Grishgottago

I don't know how it happened. Just hope it continues. If the defense and special teams can continue to play like they did, and the offense can continue to improve, the future looks bright.
