This is from across the pond. If you want to donate blood in the UK but have long covid symptoms, you can't. How many colds or respiratory viruses impact blood donations?

I completely understand the reason though. But this same NHS still calls covid a respiratory infection.

The virus causes low platelet levels, large platelets too. Thin blood that can cause clots, and anemia (low iron). Covid does this to our blood, long or not.

And as a reminder, those who get boosters for Covid have a dramatically lower incidence of Long Covid.

Not telling anyone they have to get the shots. It's up to you. But they do provide protection.
