Especially since some of you live in the middle/lower part of the state, what are you hearing about the new golf courses being built ...... especially those in the sand belt? I always thought that the perfect place (terrain and soil-wise) for a course in South Carolina would be between Camden and Cola or Cola and Aiken and apparently there are at least two or three just finished or being planned there.

I think I read that 12 were being built or planned in the state ....... none public (which I don't like)!

I’m not sure about the new ones, but Sage Valley outside of Aiken is fantastic

near Aiken, SC are two new ones I’ve heard about . . . but will probably never see much less play . . .

Here’s the Golf Digest Article that introduced me to them:

Hope they meet your fancy!!!

That does sound like an awesome club. I'd trade a fancy dining area for a nice practice facility any day!

Skeet ..... I have read about those two and also the one on the drawing board near Camden.

I hope we are not going back into the 90's when it seems like golf courses were being designed and built to make the cover of Golf Digest rather than for the people that play them. Personally, I don't enjoy golf courses where the average player is apt to lose a dozen balls. That's not fun!
