Just rumor. But, there will be a ton of pressure on Napier to name an OC after this season. (a la Jimbo at aTm last year, when he hired Petrino)
Scott is the name being thrown around the loudest.
I hope they are wrong. Seems like he'd do a great job in that role.
C'mon Dabo. Don't let them do it. Find a spot for Scott in Clemson!

Could be true but I am not buying it. He is currently building a huge home in Clemson just down the road from Dabo. It is near his former house.

I could see the appeal but Jeff has made it clear he wants to raise his family in Clemson. I guess he could commute but he seems very content with what he wants for himself and his family.

I don’t think he’s saying Dabo should make him OC. Just find him a role that he’ll be happy in…which I’m pretty sure is in the works.
Also- there’s no way in hellll Jeff Scott is dumb enough to go work for Napier.
Absolutely no chance.

I think if that’s a route he wanted to take, he would not have returned to Clemson and started his house. He wants the culture (he helped build it) and the quality of life here. My bet would be that he and Dabo and Neff already constructed the deal and it will be revealed after the season. Jeff is a Tiger!

Have no idea in regards to the validity of that rumor but what I will say is if there is a way for us to get him back on the Clemson staff as a position/assistant coach or recruiter or both I think it would bode well for us to do so

I like Coach Scott as well and believe he would help us a great deal. One thought though, wasn't he one of those young coaches that Dabo hired, that had little experience, before he made it big and took a head job elsewhere?

Everyone is mentioning getting Jeff back, which I am all for. No one is mentioning getting his Dad back. I’d like to see Brad back in some role. He is a good mentor who has been behind a lot of winning football teams. Knows offensive football.
