Another NCAA headscratcher

that I don't get. James Maddison isn't eligible for post season play because they have to sit out 2 seasons because they moved up from fcs to fbs, which is a rule I don't understand. They are currently undefeated and could possibly be playing in a new year six bowl but ncaa will not waiver on letting them play a post season game till next year. This is why they aren't ranked in the CFP ranking but are in the AP and coaches ranking. Such a disservice to the players that are competing every week that might be seniors and rest of team. Who knows if they will have this opportunity next year. They will more than likely get blown out if they were to play a big power 5 school in a bowl game but I would love to see them get that chance. They are still petitioning the ncaa to let them play a bowl game this year but doesn't seem likely.

Everyone knew the rule before they made the move. Players. Coaches. Fans. Admin.

Rules shouldn’t change just because your record is better than expected.

True. But it is a crappy rule. The NCAA is like elephants at a circus. It simply craps all over the place.

It’s for academics and recruiting purposes. There are different academic standards for teams in lower divisions. The probation period prevents teams being ineligible and then having to vacate wins.

And they will basically do nothing to Michigan for their second offense at cheating in a year's time.

That I can agree with. There’s just inconsistency with the NCAAs rulings on things.
