True, but if we go to Vegas we'll all go visit Hunter Renfrow.

Maybe we could get a loan from Renfrow.

I’d love to know how that applies in this situation.
The first reactionary “Alliance” announcement was eye rolling, but for the ACC to PR this now leads me to believe the organization really is that inept and feckless.

Has the ACC ever had any proactive leadership?

Yeah this is really pathetic iah!!! It’s like they are still trying to hold on to the old and because of that they will not be a part of the new!!! Get ND to join and then form the best football conference possible with what’s left of the ACC/BIg 12 and PAC or get left behind…that is the ONLY opportunity to survive for the ACC!!! If ND says no…then it’s doesn’t matter what they do…it’s over and time for the big boys to jump ship!!!

Only as strong as the negotiation. Don’t sound like much to me. Title game in Vegas would be great. I don’t see that boosting t.v. ratings for regular season. Then, on the occasion the acc looses it would be knocking the acc out of any playoff, if the playoffs even survive this clutter. We have 2 power conferences going head to head. What’s to keep them from forming their own playoff.

The Objective of This Announcement

was to placate the "also rans" of both conferences. They are whistling past the graveyard.

That’s not an announcement of any kind. It is a “report” from someone with “sources”.
Should have said “this mornings rumor”.

Alright then,
Jul 6, 2022, 2:56 PM
|
|
It’s sourced reporting that includes specific details that have obviously been released thru a reporter by someone in either the ACC or PAC-12 PR departments.
It’s likely a trial balloon that in my view has had the immediate affect of making the ACC and PAC12 look even more impotent.
All that stated, I’ll continue to refer to this as an announcement.

That’s all fine. Still simply unsubstantiated rumors. I was hoping that someone had actually announced something when I clicked your post…
An announcement would be the ACC (or someone official) putting out a press release or having a press conference.
Again, HTH.

I'm sure the SEC and B1G called emergency meetings and a call between commissioners to figure out how they can counter such a power move.
