but it's not on the radio and it sure as hell isn't coming from Hootie. Bingham's latest album was good, Isbell put out an amazing record last year and his new one is solid (though I'd classify him more Americana), and Sturgill Simpson is killing it on tour right now.
Thanks for giving me another reason to dislike all things Hootie.

I've been lucky enough to see him a dozen times or so and it always fantastic. Id start with "Southeastern," as it's easily his best and work from there. His music from his time with Drive-By Truckers is great, too.
Americana, alternate country, and folk are about all I listen to. That site you linked to is pretty good; a good friend of mine is on there daily.

in Greenville a few months back. His songs are usually very dark but they all seem to have a point to them. I can't wait for the release of his new album.
Check out Chris Stapleton and Whitey Morgan if you want some good country.

and he unveiled 24 Frames for the first time. He's just an incredible songwriter that can tell a tale better than most anyone.
I'll have to see if it is still up, but I had a link to a leak of the new album. I'd already preordered the record, so I didn't feel too bad. If you're interested, I'll PM it to you.

I wish we'd had a lot more time there...it was like a cast of characters assembled for a TV show in there. We were in there a little over an hour and the conversation with the locals was priceless.

I remember shooting pool in a bar at Key West at around 11:00..on a July night. There was a thermometer in the bar (that was mostly outside) and it was 89 degrees.
I looked up at the thermometer a little while later at around midnight...and it was 90 degrees.

I know there will be two stages but I don't know if the Picnic is more like the Southern Ground festival that it ends around midnight or is it like the Christmas Jam and goes until roughly sun up.
My worry is somebody that I really want to see is going to get left out.
