I wait and bide my time. I am due for a new phone this year. Been 4 years on this one and the battery is sucking now and there is a little issue with the screen when viewing all white. A line from top to bottom. Barely noticeable.

But I always wait 6 months for them to find the problems (bending phones for example), and work out the kinks. Thinking phone for birthday and Wifi6 router by Christmas. Always keep up with the latest tech, but years of wasted $$$ has taught me to never chomp at the bit. Let the other people do that. They will find the bugs, plus prices will drop.

With 5g coming I would wait for the 2nd gen of 5g phones

Samsung is going high cotton with their new line up - I think the cheapest is $1,000 - and that flip phone is not 5g. Heard a review on it yesterday and the screen is very easy to scratch, you can do it with a fingernail easy.

the company was liquidating for half price. It's getting 5G signal where available with no issues. I probably wouldn't have spent full price on a new model anyway, so I'm happy with what I got.

The difference between the S10+ in general is light years of difference to the old Note 5 though.

Looks like the coverage is very limited based on Verizon's maps. It isn't like blanket installing a cell tower and that entire area gets 5G. It is limited to street corridors and buildings where 5G is installed.

will be able to use the flavor of 5G most of the US will use. Fingernail scratching issue. You name it. They will sort all that stuff out. Plus not paying $1400 for a phone anyway.

Plus for the $1400 phone though is it will have a 100x zoom. Looks amazing in reviews. Ninja potential will shoot off the charts.
