We need pessimism. What fun is being a fan without it? Adversity fuels fandom in many ways. Honestly, when Clemson struggles I get even more invested in what is going on that when it is always smooth sailing...although I would love some smooth sailing right now.

Read through the board, we are victims all over the place.
Victims of bad coaching, victims of refs, victims of stupid players, victims of the SEC, victims of couch coaches, victims of ESPN or the AP voters, victims of uncouth opposing fans, and even victims of the weather or time of day.

It is every team's milieu. If we were all rah-rah fans all the time blowing sunshine up each other's butts what fun would that be? Circle-jerks get to be pretty boring.

You have to admit that it's fun to smack down a Coot, or a Dawg, or whatever other team that comes on here to post. A bit of angst riles up the fan in us.

I have been a fan of the Boston Red Sox my whole life. The best and worst thing that ever happened to Sox fans was to finally beat the curse. Once the curse was beat the only expectation there could be is to win the World Series every year...that surely hasn't happened. So what I am saying is that some adverse years greases the machine of being a loyal fan.

So we come here share our opinions which are like armpits...or some other body location. They might smell good to us, but terrible to others. As is said everyone likes the smell of their own farts right?
