My second daughter surprised us 3 years ago by coming to us with Down syndrome. Needless to say the last 3 years have been full of ups and downs as we watch her struggle to keep up with kids her age. Yet we know she's wonderously made and wouldn't change her for anything.
She's sitting with me as I write this. I, of course, am wearing a shirt that has a paw on it and she keeps pointing to it. She loves paws and it was actually one of her first words. Speech is going to be her weakest area. There aren't many things we really understand.
The thing I'm most proud of.....every time she she sees a paw, including right now, her right hand makes a fist, goes in the air and she goes into a perfectly counted "C-L-E-M...In cadence..count"!! Complete with an arm swing on the R!!!
