You can trust the government all you want.

But the federal government can kiss this red blooded proud southern libertarian’s ###!
The federal government has always lied. America is the greatest country in the world, but our government has done a lot of crappy stuff including to Americans. The citizenry they are supposed to serve. We are not supposed to be their serfs!
And we are living in a surveillance state and a growing and increasingly fascist country. Snowden has documented this as has Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald among others.
This goes all the way back to Abraham Lincoln if not further. Practically everything that has been taught about the Civil War and Lincoln is propaganda and a lie. Lincoln crapped all over the constitution. He was the first president to greatly expand the federal government for power and control. Lincoln instigated the Civil War by sending a supply ship into Charleston Harbor knowing the southern forces would fire on that ship giving him the moral high ground to send federal troops into the south. This is a fact. He knew how the south would respond because Buchanan sent a supply ship into Charleston Harbor and it was fired upon. But Buchanan did not start the Civil War. Most people up north especially the newspapers of the day which were very influential told Lincoln don’t start a war. Most people in the north did not want a Civil War.
FYI It was not even a Civil War because a Civil War is two factions fighting over control of the government. The south wasn’t fighting for control of America. The south said screw you and left!
Slavery was the central issue that led to succession. But slavery was not why Lincoln sent troops into the south to fight a war. Lincolns motivation was preserving the union. Lincoln crapped on the constitution to preserve the union.
Among the many unconstitutional crimes committed by Lincoln was suspending the Supreme Court because he knew there was nothing in the constitution preventing a state from leaving the union because every state joined voluntarily and if the south took the north to court he feared they would win. Thus he suspended the Supreme Court.
Jefferson himself called America the great experiment and predicted that would be succession.
The founding fathers would be in horror over what Lincoln did and over what’s going on today with Covid and lockdowns and everything else that’s happening.
Furthermore, the emancipation proclamation did not free a single slave. I was taught that back in the early 80s by my US history teacher in high school that also happened to be a black man. If you actually read the emancipation proclamation you will see that it only freed slaves in southern states that had already left the union. Lincoln and the American government had no jurisdiction over those states. But he expressly allowed slavery to be maintained in border states that stayed true to the union. So there was legal slavery in the United States of America while the American military was waging war on the south!
If you think I’m lying go read the emancipation proclamation for yourself. If you think I’m lying read this letter sent to Horace Greeley by Abraham Lincoln in 1962.
Thus, the US government has always lied to the people and manipulated people to do whatever they want for their power and control.
http://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org/lincoln/speeches/greeley.htm
And when you watch this video keep in mind these are not Trump supporters nor conservatives. He technically calls himself a Republican but he is a left-leaning rhino and she is pretty #### far left! They hate Trump and they can’t stand most of the Republicans in Congress.
What happened in Michigan is also what happened on January 6. That’s why they told Trump we don’t need your help with the national guard. That’s why they didn’t do anything despite Intel that there might be a riot at the capital on January 6 because it was their own people instigating the riot!
There are still people in jail in solitary confinement that did absolutely nothing on January 6 and a police officer that killed a woman doing nothing has not been arrested. At the same time people that have rioted across America and done billions in damage and killed more than 24 people will never spend one day in jail for their crimes.
So you can believe the government all you want. I’m a radical libertarian that knows the founding fathers would be in absolute horror if they saw America today! This country was founded on freedom of the individual. We are living however in an increasingly fascist country! When the government controls almost everything you do and your business and your property, which they do, that is fascism!
Go read things being written by Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi. Both of which are pretty far left. They will help enlighten you.

Jimmy Dore is a self avowed socialist that wants free everything! He is far from Republican, conservative, or a Trump supporter.

TLDR, but if you're gonna take such a stand/make such claims...do something with it. Not sure this is the place to launch a campaign, though.

Actually I think there should be just one board.
Let people read what they want to read and ignore what they want to ignore. And if they don’t wanna read what I post they can always use that little thing called the block feature.
Typically it’s the liberals on here that get triggered by posting anything even remotely political on the main board. You have to wonder why that is? Why are they so triggered by someone expressing an opinion especially about politics. Could it be because they’re scared someone might read something that might change their mind? That someone might be enlightened from all the propaganda and the fake news that the left loves and promotes! The censorship that they love so much?

I can tell you have a passion for politics and current events. I believe you would be more comfortable on the PR bored where people like yourself enjoy talking about that stuff. Poasting if it here is why people get upset and yea, there are some folks with liberal views here that act like children as there are conservatives. Either way, it all belongs on the PR bored.

This isn't about believing government. It's about trusting medical science and common sense.
Our Founding Fathers would be embarrassed at how partisan, anti-science, willfully ignorant, and conspiracy-minded so many Americans have become.

Give Lowcountry a break. It's not a totally unreasonable post.
The government is a cancer. At some point the country has to put itself on chemo or it will die.

A lot of supposition and misinformation there. First, Lincoln did have jurisdiction over the South. The United States Govt. did not recognize the Confederate States as sovreign. So yeah, he could and did go there. (After the war, 1869 SCOTUS ruled that secession was unconstitutional)
Second, Lincoln didn't "suspend the Supreme Court", rather he along with the legislature passed a law suspending "Habeus Corpus" between Washington, DC and Philadelphia so they could lock up rebels, resisters and trump supporters.
