there is now a very real possibility we lose players in that May transfer window before they ever even suit up in a game for us? There is something just morally WRONG about that situation. All the work the coaches have put in, in some cases for several YEARS recruiting a kid, and some tampering NIL offer can come along and they are out the Transfer Portal door.

I know. Wish we'd do one signing day in August as Dabo suggested. Then it'd be a big DAY again. I'd take the day off to watch it all day long. It was like opening day of football, March madness etc...
Remember all the drama of flips, signing.

- August signing day for HS recruits.
- December signing for portal players (Make this a 2-3 week window - basically sign before Christmas).

The portal has ruined it mainly for programs such as uscJR. They will lose most of their top rated high school recruits to the portal before they contribute. They will tout rankings that combine recruits and transfers only to watch transfers simply transfer again. I guess those morons have to continue enjoying football season between signing day and the end of August.

Powers that be get their head out of the sand the better the chance to save it. Fans are fed up.
As for our ability in the transfer portal, it has relegated us back to pre 2014 years. We should have maintained at the level we were, but Dabo hight he could ignore the portal.

I don't think anyone will be getting their heads out of anything till the dollars stop rolling in. By then it will likely be too late. It is going like NASCAR just driving away those who once loved it.
