For the sake of geography and travel, wouldn’t this make sense:
- Cincinnati, UCF, and West Virginia from the Big 12 to the ACC.
- California, SMU and Stanford from the ACC to the Big 12.

Pitt renews its local rivalries with Cincinnati (the Riverboat Trophy) and West Virginia (the Backyard Brawl) and the furthest west ACC school becomes Notre Dame in Indiana. For the Big 12, the farthest east that any Big 12 school would travel to is Iowa State.

The only thing that makes a difference is the money. Neither group really brings anything, but the conference can get mire money off the California/SMU schools because the get more money ftom the conference network.

Combining the 2 would be of the most help. Would take that to demand the kind of money it’s going to take to compete with the other 2 unfortunately.

& yes, it would make all the sense in the world.

However, common sense in college athletics has been dying on the vine the past several years, if not completely dead already.

When OU and Texas left the Big 12, the ACC should have pounced on some of the Big 12 schools which would have strengthened its foot print and conference and allowed the ACC to renegotiate its GOR with ESPN and maybe add in Fox.

Instead we added 3 teams no one wanted and on the other side of the country. So much stupid its unbelievable.
