I thought I’d ask this in here because I might be able to get honest opinions from what I perceive to be more intelligent posters.
My question is am I the only one thinking it’s sort of hypocritical and maybe even idiotic that Dabo seemingly refuses to use the portal to better his team in the FEW areas of need? Not like FSU or Colorado. We all know that’s not what’s needed here. Just man, seeing Mukuba going off and all these other schools doing what it takes to get better, it bugs me.
The hypocrisy is that he makes a top 3 salary, and to me, not using every available option to get better, is a bad look considering he reaches his hand out for 11 million a year.
This team doesn’t need much to be a lot better. But our coach thinks he is above doing everything necessary to get his program back to where HE had it.

Oh yea. That’s me. Tyler wasn’t wrong though. I love Dabo. But he has bottomed out since the whole insanity of the portal and everything else hit. It can’t be a coincidence.

More intelligent posters is correct. The most intelligentest posters is correcter.
Saying Dabo refuses to use the portal is simply incorrect. It would also be wise for you to understand that not everything going on behind the scenes is going to be broadcast publicly.
He makes a top 3 salary. Is he a top 3 coachcouch it as he reaches his hand out for his salary, you should also acknowledge that there are probably 300,000 people that would GLADLY shove it in his pockets for him while he's playing Tune In Tokyo with Kathleen.
Our coach is doing what he thinks is best for our program. He's not going to do what YOU think is best for our program.
Got any pigs of your wife or girfriend's big melk hangars you can share for inconveniencing us on a Monday afternoon?

with these transfer guys? High dollar gets the player. Even Ohio State, Southern Cal, etc. lose their top guys. We have been so lucky to only lose a few players and most are not starters.
Let's look at South Carolina - they get some good guys, but play one year and move on. Their receiver, Wells refused to play after he came back from surgery, boosters tried to pay him extra to play vs. Clemson, he said no. He is headed to Ole Miss.
If Dabo can build a somewhat more traditional team by however he is doing it, and does not bring in guys to play ahead of recruits to help that happen, so be it. There has to be a ton of coaches who are pulling for Dabo to make it work.
Now, when it comes to NIL money, pay it to our guys who are here imo. Those two defensive line guys deserve top dollar. They earned it. And I think this is what Dabo is trying to do - he is not against paying those guys from what I have read and heard.

I, like a lot of old guys, realize college football will never go back to where it was, under the table cash, etc, but this wide open pay to play has to turn into a true pay system, where schools are paying, and therefore getting contracts signed, or I probably have seen the last Natty of my lifetime.
And I am fine with that.
