Does it scare anyone else to see Amir Trapp...

Nov 3, 2017, 7:14 AM

on the two deep at corner because of the injury to Mark Fields...

I'v only seen him play a few times this year and lets just say I hope the secondary stays healthy. If anything happens to Carter, Mullen, or Terrell, it would be good to see K'von Wallace at corner since they're giving him practice reps there. With Trapp in there, you're essentially asking the offense to take a shot over top.

Wow, another sideline coach that knows more than the staff. I think I'll trust the staff.

Never made that claim

Nov 3, 2017, 7:25 AM

Isn't the point of a forum to express opinions? Never claimed to know more than the staff, just making a statement based on observation.

I'm sure you never gave an opinion about Cole Stoudt did you?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

More than opinion but criticism of a player that you

know very little about. No, I have never criticized Cole Stoudt. He gave his best and wore the PAW!

Cole was a solid QB , just not spectacular .

My opinion.

He brings up a valid point. What does Amir Trapp go - 5'7 at best?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For relaxing times, make it Suntory time

Yeah 5'7 170lbs...and exactly, an area of concern.

Nov 3, 2017, 8:07 AM

I would love for him to get in there and prove me wrong, but his size is a concern. The coaches haven't had to use him in pressure situations or even in general, so it'll be interesting to see how he does if one of the other corners gets hurt.

Isn't he James Trapp's son? He'll be fine.

yes he is James Trapp's son he will be fine. He could break out like
Edmonds did last year.

As Dabo preaches, next man up.

Nov 3, 2017, 7:35 AM

Multiple injuries at any position could put any team at a slight disadvantage. Clemson is blessed to have the depth we have at corner. Trapp has had good examples in front of him and good coaches to help him prepare for when he sees the field.

The other advantage Clemson has is a very talented D-line, which hopefully will give the opposing QB very little time to expose mistakes in a short handed secondary. I think Clemson will be fine. But hopefully everyone heals up well, quickly, and the secondary gets back to full strength.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right there with ya

Nov 3, 2017, 7:50 AM

Exactly, next man up. I'm hoping the d-line makes it extremely easy for the secondary Saturday night.

Nov 3, 2017, 8:18 AM

Quickness, speed, and leaping ability all matter. They can be just as important as height and reach. I don't know where Trapp sits with these attributes, but I suspect he benefits here, or he wouldn't make the 2 deep.

Nov 3, 2017, 9:21 AM

The depth chart for NCSU has Carter, Edmond, and Trapp at one corner and Mullen, Fields, Terrell at the other. So it doesn't seem he's on the two deep.

He'll be fine either way.

Edmonds and Fields aren't playing Saturday***

Nov 3, 2017, 9:37 AM

Did it scare you the first time you saw a little walk on wide receiver by the last name Renfrow in the starting lineup?

Just trust the coaches man

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I trust the coaches for the 100th time...

Nov 3, 2017, 9:46 AM

And to answer your question no it didn't scare me with Renfrow because he was a baller the first time he got on the field. All I'm saying is we're extremely thin at corner this weekend because of the injuries with Fields & Edmond. Trapp is 5'7 170lbs so it'll be interesting to see how he does if he gets in the game against their 6'2 or 6'3 210lb plus receivers.

People need to stop jumping to the conclusion that people who share their opinions on here don't trust the coaches, that's ridiculous.

'93, how many practices in, say, the last two years have you attended? Just asking so I know how to value your opinion.

Re: Does it scare anyone else to see Amir Trapp...

Nov 3, 2017, 9:50 AM

Its just an area of concern having a 5'7 170lb corner in our two deep. Coaches having nothing to do with it, he's in the 2 deep because of injuries.

People on here get really offended if you have an opinion, its hilarious.

Honestly Wallace will probably slide out to CB before Trapp sees time there, so I'm not really concerned. Trapp seems like he has good speed and technique but there's only so much a 5'7 CB can do.
