because I got a little worried last season about the weight he put on.
I've always believed players play better when their coaches make an effort to stay in shape.
Goodwin needs to take that to heart a bit as well. Venables always made time to work out or run.

Not sure Goodwin would have been considered an athlete. He reminds me of a guy like the one down at the Dolphins. I call those gurus. Very smart guys or a high football IQ kind of coaches.

I agree with that comparison. Have to chuckle every time I see the Dolphin coach on the sideline with the players. Would love to hear how CW 42 would describe him.
With that impression of Goodwin, I have often wondered how things would go if he were to go back up to the box and have Coach Eason manage the players on the sideline. Your thoughts?

Goodwin should go back upstairs. That’s where he convinced others of his abilities. Let Conn or Reed manage the sideline aspects.

Gonna need another level from the defense this year. More so in the secondary than the front 7, but returning to a legitimately elite DL and pressuring QBs relentlessly will help there.

I hope there is an upturn in the play of the defensive tackles
this year...they slipped last year under Eason's first year.
