NOT the "average". Median means there are an equal number of people above and below that number. For instance,

100,99,98,15,14,13,12.

15 would be the median, but certainly would not be the average.

The way I took it was that the figures are for individuals

and the amounts are the mid-point income level across their career. An equal number of yearly salaries below and above the given numbers. Not correct?

Actually it is 13 for the ACC counting Notre Dame. Notre Dame is an ACC member (except for football).
