On your Mt Rushmore of greatest men’s BB players. He should definitely be in the conversation.

He is an outstanding player no doubt, but he’s not one of the four best in Clemson history.

Horace is our only ACC POY, and he averaged 21.0 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game, and 0.8 blocks per game. That is arguably the best individual season in program history.

This year, PJ is averaging 20.1 points per game, 7.1 points per game, and 1.8 blocks per game. PJ has a more versatile offensive game than Horace, although this is obviously a different era for big men.

I know you meant rebounds, but the Clemson stud is almost averaging a double double, which is top-shelf collegiate basketball company.

Yea, I'm a PJ homer and I don't care who knows it.

Mom is 75 and I'm about 5 years older than him, so that'd be weird for me and Mom if that were true.

But he is one of my favorite Clemson players. Watching him rain threes from dang near half court was really fun.

As an Oglesby fan, do you share my conspiracy theory that he left because of how Purnell handled that Michigan game? I thought Michigan was mugging him the entire game and his frustration was visible and Purnell never lobbied the refs about it. So when it resumed immediately in the second half he blew his top. We would have been so much better in 09-10 if he had stayed and Brownell might have been better than First Four in 10-11.

It may have played a part, but I think ultimately him being from Europe and having so many European teams giving him offers was the real driver. He seemed like he had a plan to play professionally in Europe from the beginning, so causing the noise he did and building his rep as a sharp shooter from behind the arc I think weighed more in his early exit from Clemson. Plus that was the era of the one and done. So kids were all just looking to go pro as soon as possible.

Skip Wise played my senior year. Outstanding guard and all-ACC in his freshman year if I remember correctly. The Tigers played Maryland for the regular season title but lost 70-64 dropping us into third place. Very talented, but I would leave him off simply because he left for the pros after that one season. Biggest mistake of his life. I would replace him with Elden Campbell.

Clemson’s second all-time leading scorer, he was a three-time All-ACC member playing with the Tigers from 1995-99. McIntyre ranks second in Clemson history in career scoring (1,839), second in three-point goals (259), third in assists (577), and fourth in steals (194).

Some of those numbers may have changed in the last several years, but he was without a doubt one of the best ever put on a tiger uniform

Those dudes had Clemson at an elite level of basketball for a couple years.

PJ might be #10 but he hasn’t even taken a team to NCAA

What is this elite level you speak of?

We never finished higher than fourth in a nine team ACC, so middle of the pack.

We had the one really good Sweet 16 team, but other than that we were one and done in the NCAA Tournament.

The 97-98 team with senior Greg Buckner and junior Terrell McIntyre was disappointing. Despite the Sweet Sixteen team the year prior, and lofty preseason expectations, we went just 18-14 overall and 7-9 in the ACC. We lost four in a row in January, and went 3-4 in our last 7 games. We were 8-11 during the months of January, February, and March, including being upset by 11 seed Western Michigan in the first round.

While that was a fun time for Clemson basketball in the mid 90s, there seems to be some revisionist history going on here. We had one really good year while Rick was here.

He's probably the best player in the Brownell Era. Buckner and Tmac were better. Lots of greats in the 80's but was to young to know
