Coach Brownell is a lot better buy, but the comparisons of too long too late are very similar.

Very similar. Does just enough to keep his job. Wins a game he should not every now and then. Then loses an absolute stinker every year.

I'm honestly surprised they hung on to him this long. Occasionally wins a big game then losses to teams they have no business losing to. Bowl record is anemic and not even .500 under ole Dave. No major bowl wins or appearances. No conference titles. No division titles. Just a middle of the pack team (pun intended).

teams in the conference, I would not be surprised to see Brownell win the ACC regular season this year. Every time our football team has struggled, basketball has stepped up to toe the line for Clemson Athletics. This will probably be another one of those years being that Perennial powers Duke and UNC seem more interested in winning football games.

The correlation can’t be denied. Both UNC and Duke’s men’s BB teams performed at a level last year more similar to CUs men’s BB.
Using this logic, our football team is headed for a sub standard year while our men’s BB team could actually make the NCAA tournament.
I think your discovery and subsequent theory are worthy of a Nobel prize.
