Reports: Windshield cracks in midair as Florida Gators track team returns from winning national title

The Florida Gators' thrill of winning a national championship in men's track and field Saturday was soon followed by a harrowing experience on their flight home as the windshield of their plane cracked in midair and the plane made a rough landing, according to several posts early today on Twitter by team members and UF officials.
Matt DeLancey, assistant director of strength and conditioning for the University of Florida, posted a photograph on Twitter showing the cracked windshield of the plane after its landing in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
"Cracked at 37,000 feet. Our pilots never seemed to panic," he tweeted just before 2 a.m.
Other postings from the team said that no one was injured.
The team reportedly stopped in Alabama on the flight back to Gainesville to drop off other teams that had been on the same chartered flight.
Early today, track team members tweeted that they expected to have to wait a few hours for a new plane to pick them up.
One of the players had initially posted a comment that the plane had crashed, but he and others quickly updated that it was not a plane crash and that everyone was OK.
