To be upfront I’m in the camp that thinks KB deserves to start, mostly bc I trust Dabo. What will be interesting to watch is whether TL is played more like an “or” with first string or an “or” at second string. In other words I did feel like HJ went in just long enough to get some snaps but in order to get ZC some snaps he wasn’t in long. While I think KB deserves to start, I would like to see TL come in for a few drives to get him into a rhythm and see what he can do. I hope to see CB get some snaps too but I think that should be noticeably less than TL gets. Not sure if I’ll get a good response here or just rehash the same but just something I was thinking.

I think it'll depend on how the game is going and how Kelly is faring.

Blowouts, you'll see Kelly go out early and Trevor/CB get more playing time...like you typically see in FCS games. Ex, Citadel last year, we had Zerrick Cooper in before 2nd quarter was even over (FYI, Furman lurkers who are trying to equate performances but had their main QB in until 3rd quarter).

If Kelly has at least a 10-14 point lead, you may see him stay in until mid-late 3rd.

If KB is playing a close game, but managing it well, he may stay in for a bit, but depends then on how it looks and what is happening:

If he has issues in a game crossing the 50 or stalling mid-field and/or a team plays us where things get one-dimensional with minimal passing and he struggles, you'll likely see a faster switch to one of the others. If he's crossing the 50 and just stalling in the red-zone, he'll likely stay in until we get in red-zone area, the there could be a switch to utilize TL passing to open things for the RB's.

I agree. My concern is how many genuine 1st team reps TL will get when he is in the game. Seems like that will be key to really evaluating how ready he is for prime time and to see if he can really move the offense. Playing with the 2s and 3s might be good for getting familiar with the environment, but to really develop the in-game experience and timing with the receivers the 1st team reps, even in blow-out games and with Kelly playing without struggles, will be key to being able to realistically compare performances with all the QBs. I seem to remember HL and ZC mainly coming in with the 2s and 3s.
